First Thoughts
I began writing “Sagas of The Ridge: Justice Unbound” some 25 years ago. It began with just a description of “The Ridge” of the story. Later, I learned that my father had had an altercation with two older boys when he was about 13 and they were 18. They had beaten him up pretty bad, so he got his brother’s rifle and was about to shoot them when his brother managed to stop him.
Anyway, one thing led to another and I began thinking “what if”. And after some reflection I decided that’s what most authors do, they simply think of a situation and then go “what if”.
Well, this time the “what if” produced a novel I originally called simply “The Ridge”. I found out there are a number of books and novels by that name so my wife and I did some brainstorming and we ended up with the title it is now, “Sagas of The Ridge: Justice Unbound”.
I self published the novel Since I could never seem to find any company or agent who seemed enamored by the story. So I went to a vanity publisher and had the book put out with some moderate success. I say “vanity” because that’s what most people would call the company although I didn’t have to pay for the publication. But, they didn’t offer any type of marketing. That was left to me.
Anyway, after doing some rewrites and making the novel tighter in a number of different ways, I am now publishing in the here as well as in a couple of other online forms in hopes that it will find an audience. And for anyone who is interested, I have also written a screenplay and one day before I’m in the grave hopefully will see it on the big screen.
Regardless, I hope you enjoy my effort at putting a novel on paper and if you do please let me know. Thank you for giving it a shot.
